Terms of Service
Last updated May 5, 2026
1. Welcome
ewallet ("we", "us", "the app") is a non-custodial USD wallet built for everyday people in Guyana and the Guyanese diaspora. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms.
2. Who can use ewallet
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract under the laws of your country. You are responsible for any taxes that apply to your use of the app.
3. Your wallet is yours
ewallet is non-custodial. Your wallet keys are managed by our infrastructure partner (Thirdweb) and tied to your sign-in. We do not hold, access, or control your funds. We cannot reverse a transaction or recover funds sent to the wrong address.
If you lose access to your sign-in account, you may lose access to your wallet. Keep your sign-in credentials safe.
4. About USDC and Base
ewallet works with USDC, a US-dollar stablecoin issued by Circle. USDC is a third-party asset; its value, availability, and redemption are governed by Circle's own terms. The app runs on the Base network (an Ethereum L2). We do not control USDC, Circle, Base, or any underlying blockchain.
5. Fees and gas
We may sponsor network fees ("gas") for everyday transactions. Sponsorship is a courtesy, not a guarantee — we may pause, limit, or remove it at any time. Larger or unusual transactions may not be sponsored.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use ewallet to:
- Break any law that applies to you
- Send funds to or from sanctioned individuals or jurisdictions
- Launder money, evade taxes, or finance terrorism
- Defraud anyone or impersonate someone else
- Probe, attack, or attempt to disrupt the service
We may suspend or close any account that we reasonably believe is being used in violation of these Terms or applicable law.
7. No financial advice
Nothing in the app is investment, tax, or legal advice. Stablecoins can lose their peg, and digital assets carry risk. You are responsible for your own decisions.
8. Service "as is"
We provide the app on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind. We do not promise that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, or data, arising out of your use of ewallet. Our total liability for any claim is limited to USD 100.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. If the changes are material, we will let you know in the app or by email. Continuing to use ewallet after a change means you accept the new Terms.
11. Termination
You can stop using ewallet at any time. We may suspend or end access if you violate these Terms or if we have to for legal or security reasons. Your wallet remains on the blockchain — ending the app account does not freeze your funds.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Georgetown, Guyana, unless a different forum is required by applicable consumer-protection law.
